 | IntroductionMarty Preston has over 20 years experience teaching beginner to Intermediate level students. Marty teaches piano in her home or yours! EducationMarty graduated from Butler University with a Master's Degree in Music in 1990 and has taught private piano lessons since 1985. She also has her teaching certification and has taught in the Indianapolis Public Schools. Her studies have included classical, jazz piano, classical organ and guitar. |
Philosophy of Teaching
Marty instructs all ages from 5 - 75, but concentrates her instruction on beginner and intermediate students. Using the Alfred, Bastien and Noona Methods, she is able to teach musicality through the Method Book, technique, scales, and theory. Fun pieces from Disney are interspersed from time to time to keep the lessons enjoyable. The various composers in music history are emphasized to make a complete musical education. A recital is held each year for students to play for their peers and family to gain experience in performing for a live audience.Studio Policy
Lesson Fee
$25.00 per 30 minute lesson
$35.00 per 45 minute lesson
Payment of fees:
You will receive a bill at the end of each month. You will then be responsible for paying that bill the first week of the next month even if you are going to have to miss your lesson (unless prior arrangements have been made).
An additional fee is required if Marty teaches in your home.
